02 / A few steps, then a conversation

Choose your assistant.

Add the server, then authorize your Backstedge account in the window that opens. OAuth requires no personal API key.

  1. In Claude, open Customize › Connectors, then + and “Add custom connector”. Some versions place this under Settings.

  2. Name the connector Backstedge and paste https://api.backstedge.com/mcp.

  3. Connect your Backstedge account, authorize the requested access, then enable the connector in your conversation.

In an organization, an owner may need to add the connector first. Official documentation ↗

With Backstedge, list the available competitions and seasons, then help me build a strategy.

Running a backtest requires write access and uses your usual quota. Previewing a strategy does not.

Personal keys and advanced settings

For scripts or clients without OAuth, create a key in Settings › Integrations. Choose read only or read and write. The secret is shown once.

A few answers before you start.

What access does my assistant get?

You authorize access to your account during setup. Read access lets it consult your data; write access also lets it run tests and manage your strategies and trackings. Your plan limits still apply.

Does this use my quotas?

Yes, running a backtest or stability analysis uses the same quota as in the app. Reading results and previewing a strategy do not consume your backtest quota.

How do I disconnect an assistant?

In Settings › Integrations, revoke the application or its key. Its next calls will be refused. You can connect it again whenever you wish.

What data is available?

The football competitions and seasons already supported by Backstedge, along with your strategies, backtests and trackings. Ask your assistant to check data coverage before preparing a test.

Can my assistant place bets?

No. It can analyze data, run calculations and manage your Backstedge tracking within its permissions. The server has no tool to place bets with a bookmaker.

Having trouble connecting?

Check that your client supports remote HTTP MCP servers and OAuth, then restart its authorization. Your organization may require an administrator. Opening the server address in a browser does not test the connection: follow your client’s guide.
