Data controller

The data controller is the publisher of Backstedge: BACKSTEDGE.COM (see the legal notice). Contact for any data-related question: contact@backstedge.com.

Data processed

  • Account: email address, first and last name (optional), preferences (theme, language, notifications), sign-in methods used (email code, Google).
  • Content: strategies, backtests, trackings and alerts you create while using the service.
  • Security: sign-in logs and devices associated with your session (IP address, browser), available in Settings › Security.
  • Billing: payments are processed by Stripe; Backstedge stores no payment card data, only the subscription status and the Stripe customer identifier.

Purposes and legal bases

  • Providing the service and its features (performance of the contract).
  • Securing accounts and preventing fraud (legitimate interest).
  • Billing subscriptions and keeping accounting records (legal obligation).
  • Sending transactional emails: sign-in code, address verification (performance of the contract).

No data is sold, and no advertising profiling is carried out.

Processors and recipients

  • Scalingo (application hosting, European Union).
  • MongoDB, Inc. (database hosting, European Union).
  • Stripe (merchant of record: payment collection, invoicing and tax compliance — acting on its own behalf in that capacity).
  • Twilio SendGrid (transactional email delivery).
  • Google (only if you choose Google sign-in).
  • Sentry (technical monitoring, European Union: error reports may contain your IP address and account identifier).

Retention periods

Account data is kept for as long as the account is active. Deleting the account (Settings › Account) erases the data after the displayed cancellation period; accounting records are kept for the duration of the applicable legal obligations.

Your rights

You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction and objection. Two of them are built directly into the app: exporting your data (JSON) and deleting the account, in Settings › Account. For everything else, write to contact@backstedge.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (cnil.fr), the French data protection authority.

Cookies

Backstedge only uses technical cookies necessary for the service to work: the session (access and refresh tokens), the theme preference and the display language. No advertising cookies, no third-party trackers — which is why no consent banner is displayed.
